ABOUT THE PROJECT
Cantonese is the dominant and common official language in the coastal areas of southern China, Hong Kong, and Macao. Politically, the popularity of Mandarin education, China's official language, and the economic development of south China have attracted many populations from the mainland, making Cantonese survival difficult. Young people’s lack of interest in Cantonese has led to the gradual loss of Cantonese culture inheritance. The crisis of Cantonese culture also leads to the lack of communication between Cantonese people and Mandarin people, making them misunderstand each other and isolated from each other. Cantonese people feel helpless, unconfident, losing their identity, and gradually despairing about the future of Cantonese.
Project Process
I need to help Cantonese people, provide them with an opportunity to promote their language and culture and regain
their confidence. And offer a new way for people to learn Cantonese, combined with the profound culture of Cantonese, and take Cantopop as an opportunity, to stimulate their interest in learning Cantonese. At the same time, break the gap between the two languages and narrow the relationship between the two sides.
